Business and Management

The Strategy & Entrepreneurship research group at University College London (UCL) School of Management is recruiting new PhD students for its highly selective and fully funded doctoral programme. The group focuses on understanding what makes organisations successful and the factors leading to new business formation, with research topics including digitisation, AI, platforms, new and decentralised organisational forms, learning, innovation, competition, interorganisational relationships, corporate and entrepreneurial strategy, reputation, and identity. The PhD programme is designed for students aiming for scholarly careers at the highest level, offering rigorous methodological training and close mentorship from world-leading faculty. All admitted students receive a full scholarship covering tuition and a generous stipend. Applicants must have a first-class Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline; a Master’s degree is not required. Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds such as engineering, economics, business, mathematics/statistics, psychology, sociology, and anthropology are encouraged to apply. English language proficiency is required (IELTS or TOEFL), and applicants should submit GMAT or GRE scores. The application deadline is 1 January 2025. The programme provides a vibrant research community, opportunities for collaboration, and prepares graduates for academic careers in top business schools.
