About this position
Copenhagen Business School is advertising a three-year Postdoc (with the possibility of a fourth year linked to teaching) in Behavioural Contagion, Computational Social Science, and Sustainable Behaviour. The position is part of the project (Un)sustainable Tipping Points, led by Associate Professor Kristian Roed Nielsen and Assistant Professor Alice Pizzo, and funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.
The project sits at the intersection of behavioural science, computational social science, sociology, and statistics. It investigates how social contagion, individual decision thresholds, and network dynamics shape tipping points in sustainable behaviour transitions. The research combines large-scale longitudinal behavioural data, incentivized behavioural experiments, network analysis, and computational modelling of diffusion and threshold dynamics.
The postdoc will contribute to empirical, computational, and experimental work, including modelling social contagion processes, analysing longitudinal data, conducting network analyses, and designing behavioural experiments. The role is based at the Department of Management, Society and Communication and the Consumer & Behavioural Insights Group at CBS in Copenhagen.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in a relevant field, strong quantitative skills, coding proficiency in R, Python, or Stata, and experience with behavioural or longitudinal data. Experience with computational modelling and network analysis is important. English proficiency is required; project management, primary data collection, experimental design, and Danish are welcome. Prior sustainability research is an advantage but not essential.
Funding and terms: the postdoc is funded and salaried under CBS employment terms. The appointment is for three years, with a possible one-year extension for teaching responsibilities. The position is physically based in Copenhagen and the candidate is expected to be present regularly and participate actively in the group and department.
Application deadline: 4 May 2026. Applicants must apply via the electronic recruitment system and submit a cover letter, publication list, up to five selected publications, supporting documents, transcripts, diplomas, and an updated CV.
