The Gärttner Group at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in algorithm design for Rydberg quantum computers. The project encourages interdisciplinary collaboration within the qPhoton consortium and contributions to future grant proposals.
The position is a full-time postdoc role (100%, 39.5h/week) with payment according to TVL E13. The initial contract is for at least two years. There are no formal teaching duties, but participation in teaching activities is possible. Applicants must hold a PhD in theoretical physics and demonstrate expertise in numerical simulation methods, ideally in quantum many-body dynamics, quantum optics, or cold atom physics. Additional experience with open quantum systems, neutral atom quantum computing using Rydberg states, tensor network states, or adiabatic state preparation is advantageous. Prior collaboration with experimental groups is also valued.
