The Taru Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), led by Assistant Professor Naoki Higashitarumizu, is recruiting two fully funded PhD students to start in August 2026. The lab focuses on nanomaterials for optoelectronic device applications, including quantum dots, 1D/2D materials, organics, and device fabrication such as LEDs, infrared cameras, and gas sensors. Students will gain hands-on experience in optical measurements, photophysics, nanofabrication, and multiphysics simulations using tools like Lumerical FDTD and COMSOL. The lab also welcomes postdoctoral researchers, undergraduate students, and visiting students year-round. Postdoc applicants should have expertise in material growth (CVD, PVD, MBE, or PLD), MEMS, nano/microfabrication, or quantum materials/quantum optics.
