About this position

18-month postdoctoral position in Radical Communities: Transdisciplinary Approaches and Alternative Methods (COMMRAD) at Aix-Marseille Université, based at the Centre Norbert Elias in Marseille, France.

It combines political science, political theory, philosophy, anthropology, communication studies, visual arts, media studies, and artistic research, with an emphasis on audiovisual and experimental methods.

The recruited postdoc will pursue an individual research or artistic research project aligned with the COMMRAD theme, while also contributing to collective work: literature review, conceptual development, seminar/public event organization, collective publication, and potentially audiovisual or other artistic outputs. A key component is a seminar series tentatively titled Présence(s) Radicale(s), planned for October 2027 to May 2028.

Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, including artistic practice; experience in transdisciplinary research; preferred background in arts and culture, political theory/science/philosophy; some video/audio production and editing skills; excellent French and ideally English.
