About this position
AMBER COFUND is inviting applications for its final call for postdoctoral fellowships in advanced multiscale biological imaging. The programme sits at the intersection of biological imaging, life sciences, physics, engineering, artificial intelligence, computational research, bioinformatics, biophysics, modelling and simulation, and related interdisciplinary areas.
The AMBER programme (Advanced Multiscale Biological Imaging with European Research Infrastructures) is a five-year postdoctoral training initiative that will recruit 47 fellows in total across at least three call rounds. Fellows will hold 3-year contracts and work in an international, interdisciplinary environment with access to major European research infrastructures. The consortium spans academia, hospitals, research institutes, research infrastructures, medtech, and AI/ML-enabled research settings.
Eligible applicants must have a PhD by the deadline (or have successfully defended the thesis and be awaiting formal award), have no more than 8 years of postdoctoral research experience, have at least one peer-reviewed publication, and satisfy the MSCA mobility rule. The programme is open to candidates from any country, subject to mobility restrictions in the host country.
The deadline for the final call is 24 August 2026. Positions are expected to be advertised via EURAXESS and the AMBER website, with further details on available projects, host institutions, salary, and application procedures. Hosting partners include Lund University with LINXS and MAX IV, ESS ERIC, ILL, EMBL, IMol, and the University of Leicester.
If you are an early-career researcher seeking a Europe-based postdoc in imaging, modelling, and interdisciplinary life sciences, this is a strong opportunity to explore.
