The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Industrial and professional experience is considered an advantage. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research complements existing expertise and who work at the frontiers of environmental engineering. Research areas of interest include big data and artificial intelligence applications in environmental systems, fate and transport of pollutants, environmental health, water-energy-food nexus, environmental biotechnology, integrated waste management, techno-economic analysis, and solid waste management.

The position involves developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and collaborating with world-class research centers such as the National Water and Energy Center and the Emirates Center of Mobility. The university offers access to top-tier laboratory facilities, graduate research support, and internal research grant funding, including a startup research grant. English is the language of instruction and communication in the College of Engineering.

Applicants should have a demonstrated record of publications in leading international journals, potential for effective teaching, independent research, and scholarly activities. Preferred qualifications include the ability to teach a variety of courses, develop new course components, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collegially with diverse constituencies. Familiarity with outcome-based education and accreditation processes (e.g., ABET) is desirable.
