Post-Doctoral Fellow in Algae-Based Water Treatment Systems
Post-Doctoral Fellow in Algae-Based Water Treatment Systems at United Arab Emirates University
The W.A.T.E.R. Lab at United Arab Emirates University is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on algae-based water treatment research. The project focuses on microalgae, cyanobacteria, and algal-bacterial systems for sustainable wastewater and water treatment applications.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, operation, optimization, and monitoring of photobioreactor-based systems, including laboratory-scale and pilot-scale reactors. Research topics include microalgae cultivation, reactor performance optimization, salinity and brackish water applications, nutrient removal, biomass productivity, water quality improvement, and biological/physicochemical process analysis.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong hands-on experience with algae-based systems, photobioreactors, wastewater treatment, experimental research, and data analysis is expected. Experience with saline/brackish/seawater or industrial water treatment, peer-reviewed publications, sensors, automation, and pilot-scale operation is especially valued.
This is a research-focused postdoctoral opening at United Arab Emirates University. The post mentions no explicit funding package, but it is a formal university postdoctoral position. The application deadline is 2026-06-30. Applicants must apply via the official UAEU portal and complete the screening form; a detailed CV is required.
