What's required

Applicants must be Medical Doctors registered in their final year of a Medical Specialty School in Italy at the time of the PhD start date (November 1, 2025). A self-declaration of specialty registration from an Italian university is required. If holding a foreign MD degree, additional documentation for qualification suitability is needed. Authorization from the Medical Specialty School to attend the final year of residency in parallel with the PhD is required. B2-level English proficiency certification (covering listening, reading, speaking, and writing) must be submitted by the end of the first year. The selection process is highly competitive and includes exams and interviews. Two reference letters are required.
