About this position

We are looking for a PhD student interested in investigate ethnic differences in cardiometabolic health risks! You will be based at the British Heart Foundation Centre of Excellence at UCL, with plenty of opportunities to link with other strands of research within our Healthy Urban Places project. Application deadline is the 10th of January next year.
Apply to do a PhD at the British Heart Foundation centre of research excellence at UCL. A project working with our Healthy Urban Places team, including Dr Kimon Krenz at the SpaceSyntax Lab, on a study considering ethnic differences in growth and fat deposition in relation to the macro-environment is one of a number of possible interdisciplinary projects.

This three-year full-time PhD programme provides an exciting opportunity for outstanding graduates with an interest in cardiovascular disease, and previous experience in one of a wide range of disciplines, including fundamental and laboratory sciences, genomics, engineering, mathematics or physics, medical imaging, computing, data science, epidemiology, and social sciences.

What's required

Applicants must have a minimum of an upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree (or overseas equivalent) in an appropriate subject, or a recognised taught Master degree. Good spoken and written English is expected. The programme is full-time only. Previous experience in disciplines such as fundamental and laboratory sciences, genomics, engineering, mathematics or physics, medical imaging, computing, data science, epidemiology, or social sciences is desirable. Non-UK applicants must show evidence of their ability to cover the difference between home and overseas tuition fees.
