About this position
CDTnet PhD Fellowship F15 at King’s College London is a doctoral project focused on the social and ethical issues raised by digital twin technologies in cardiovascular healthcare.

Planned secondments include Oslo University Hospital, the University of Bordeaux, FEops in Belgium, and GE Vingmed Ultrasound in Norway, giving the student opportunities to engage with clinicians, patients, researchers, and industry partners across Europe.
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in any discipline and a Master’s degree in a social science-related area or a Master’s with substantial social science, qualitative research, or bioethics content. Experience or interest in qualitative methods and in the social, ethical, and political dimensions of digital health technologies is important. The post also requires strong communication skills and MSCA mobility eligibility.

An undergraduate degree in any discipline (UK 2:1 or equivalent) is required, along with a Master's degree in a social science discipline such as Sociology, Science and Technology Studies, Anthropology, Human Geography, Politics, or Social Policy, or a Master's in another field with a substantial social science, qualitative research, or bioethics component. Applicants should demonstrate interest in or experience of qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, ethnography, and policy analysis, and an interest in the social, ethical, and political dimensions of digital health technologies, AI, and/or data-driven medicine. Familiarity with cardiovascular medicine, clinical environments, or digital twin technologies is desirable but not essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. MSCA eligibility also requires that the applicant has not lived or worked in the United Kingdom for more than 12 months in the 3 years before recruitment, has no prior doctoral degree, and is eligible to enrol in the PhD programme at King's College London. Excellent English is required.
