CIPOA Venture Catalyst for PhD, Postdoctoral and Early-Career Researchers in Environmental Chemical Engineering and Sustainable Energy University of Porto in Canada

CIPOA Venture Catalyst is a research-to-startup initiative for PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists who have a breakthrough with the potential to become a startup, technology, or practical solution.

The call is linked to VII CIPOA and focuses on research areas with strong innovation and sustainability potential, including advanced oxidation technologies, water and wastewater treatment, resource recovery and circular economy, CO2 capture and conversion, green hydrogen and green ammonia production, and broader sustainable energy and climate solutions.

Selected participants will receive entrepreneurship training, expert mentorship from innovation and startup professionals, international exposure in Quito, Ecuador, and continued support through the UPTEC entrepreneurship ecosystem. Up to seven projects will be selected to pitch live during VII CIPOA and compete for extended mentorship and follow-up support.

This is not presented as a scholarship or funded academic appointment; rather, it is an innovation and venture development opportunity for researchers with market-ready ideas. The application deadline is September 9, 2026.
