About this position

The University of Rhode Island Feinstein College of Education is hiring a Clinical Associate / Full Professor of Education to coordinate its newly designed Doctorate in Education (EdD) program. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty appointment beginning in Fall 2026 at URI’s Kingston campus.

The role is centered on education leadership, program coordination, student advising, and practice scholarship. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty across the college, including the coordinator of the PhD in Education program, and will help build a supportive doctoral community focused on equity-centered, applied problem solving. The EdD curriculum emphasizes applied inquiry, implementation science, organizational learning, and leadership for change, with core courses delivered fully online for working professionals.

Research and teaching interests that fit especially well include quantitative methods, mixed methods, applied research, educational policy, systems improvement, and change leadership. The college is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching, service, and scholarship support equitable educational practices, inclusion, and community partnerships across PK-12, higher education, nonprofit, government, and industry settings.

Required qualifications include a PhD or EdD in Education or a closely related field, expertise in project/program management in an educational setting, mentoring or advising adult learners, a record of practice scholarship with potential for externally funded projects, strong communication skills, and commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience and experience with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods applied research, plus collaborative partnerships.

Funding details are not specified, but the posting notes responsibility for developing and maintaining an agenda of practice scholarship and funding. The appointment is limited to 06/30/2030 with the possibility of renewal.

How to apply: Submit the application through the URI jobs portal. Upload a cover letter/letter of application and a curriculum vitae. First consideration is given to applications received by April 20, 2026; the search remains open until filled.
