About this position

The Technical University of Munich is inviting applications for a Doctoral Candidate in Plant Cell Biology within the Elite Network Bavaria-funded graduate college “The Proteomes that Feed the World”.

This doctoral project sits at the intersection of plant cell biology, proteomics, bioinformatics, and plant-microbe interactions. The program brings together an interdisciplinary cohort of scientists with expertise in plant science, cell biology, proteomics, and bioinformatics, and is embedded in a large international network of academic and industry partners.

The project uses a cell-biological perspective to investigate the molecular bases of plant-microbe interactions, building on a proteome atlas of the 100 most important crop plants for human nutrition. The graduate college emphasizes professional training, project management, transferable skills, and preparation for future leadership roles in science, management, and communication.

Eligibility: applicants must hold an internationally recognized MSc degree in a life science discipline or in (bio-)informatics. Strong English skills are required, together with very good interpersonal and intercultural skills. The call is aimed at self-motivated candidates with broad scientific interests and a strong sense of responsibility.
