The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a doctoral researcher position in EU and Comparative Labour Law. This opportunity is based within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF), a dynamic academic hub with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character. The university is renowned for its international outlook, strong ties to European institutions, and vibrant connections to Luxembourg's financial and business sectors.

The position offers the possibility of a cotutelle agreement with another university, enhancing the international dimension of the research experience.

As part of a large research group, the doctoral candidate will collaborate with other PhDs and postdoctoral researchers working on related topics. Teaching activities are also part of the role, providing valuable academic experience. Supervision will be provided by Professor Luca Ratti, a leading expert in labour law (academic profile).

Applicants must hold a Master's Degree in Law or equivalent with excellent academic results. Specialization in labour and employment law from a European and/or comparative perspective is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate willingness to develop teaching abilities and be effective team players. Language proficiency at B2 level in the thesis language (French or English) is required, with accepted certificates as per university guidelines.

The University of Luxembourg offers a modern, inclusive, and international research environment, with staff from over 90 countries and membership in The Guild of European Research Intensive Universities. The urban campus features excellent infrastructure and strong links to professional sectors, including the Luxembourg labour market, European institutions, and a wide range of non-academic partners.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 36 months, full-time (40 hours per week), located at the Weicker Building. The yearly gross salary for doctoral researchers is EUR 43,445. Applications should include a CV, cover letter, transcripts, a detailed research proposal (2-4 pages) with bibliography, and contact information for one referee. Early application is encouraged, as applications are processed upon reception. Apply online through the University of Luxembourg HR system; email applications will not be considered.
