This doctoral opening is part of the Playful Entrepreneurial Minds: Playfulness and Hybrid Intelligence in Higher Education and Working Life (Playful Minds) project funded by the Research Council of Finland. The successful candidate will conduct doctoral research using a design-based research approach and mixed methods. The work includes co-designing and validating a Hybrid Intelligence-Playful Learning (HI-PL) framework, running participatory workshops and XR-based simulation studies, collecting questionnaire, behavioural, video, and physiological data, and analysing interviews, focus groups, and reflective learning logs.
Funding and conditions: full-time, fixed-term position for four years starting 1.10.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting gross salary is approximately 2500-3200 EUR/month before taxes, plus a performance-based component. The post includes access to University of Oulu research infrastructure such as LEAF and OuluHealth Labs, and collaboration opportunities within the Playful Minds consortium.
Eligibility highlights: a relevant completed Master’s degree (e.g. health sciences, nursing science, healthcare education), eligibility for doctoral study rights at the University of Oulu Graduate School, strong motivation for long-term doctoral research, foundational research-methods competence, good academic writing and communication skills, and fluent English.
