Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC), together with the Cluster of Excellence Balance of the Microverse, invite applications for Doctoral Researcher Positions commencing in 2026.
The positions are part of a highly interdisciplinary PhD training environment focused on microbial communication, microbial community interactions, and the fundamental principles governing microbial balance across diverse habitats, including oceans, groundwater, plants, and human hosts. Research projects may have a wet-lab or computational focus and are embedded in a collaborative network spanning the University of Jena, the University Hospital, and several Leibniz and Max Planck Institutes in Jena.
