Dr. Alex Gaitas is recruiting a fully funded Ph.D. student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), starting Spring or Fall 2026 — with the option to begin part-time earlier.
?? Research Focus:
Design and fabricate MEMS/BioMEMS devices, and test them using induced pluripotent stem cells and engineered tissues.
?? Ideal Candidate:
• B.S./M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics
• Hands-on lab electronics experience
• Programming in LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or C++ a plus
