The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança is offering an entry-level PhD researcher position in the scientific area of Biotechnology, as part of the dem@PICAR project, which focuses on the functionalization of cured meat products using extracts from Minho maritime pine bark. The successful candidate will join the Mountain Research Centre at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, working within a multidisciplinary team to advance research in food biotechnology, specifically targeting the development and enhancement of functional foods through natural extract applications. The project is part of the MPr-2024-9 - SIID - Business R&D - Demonstrators - Co-promotion (COMPETE2030-FEDER-02304800) initiative, aiming to bridge applied research and industry innovation. The position offers a competitive gross monthly salary of €2,351.53, corresponding to level 33 of the national remuneration table. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Biotechnology or a closely related field, with a scientific and professional curriculum that demonstrates suitability for the research activities. Recognition of foreign degrees in Portugal is required, or proof of application for such recognition. Non-native Portuguese speakers must provide evidence of C1-level proficiency in Portuguese. The selection process is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate’s scientific and curricular background over the past five years, including research output, applied research activities, knowledge dissemination, and experience in science management and innovation.
