Universidad Loyola is advertising a fully funded industrial PhD in collaboration with GHENOVA on Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU/CCUS), with a strong focus on energy integration, process modelling, and techno-economic analysis. The project is based in Seville, Spain, and is designed for candidates who want to move beyond purely academic research and develop solutions with direct industrial impact for the energy transition.

The position is a 4-year, full-time predoctoral contract linked to an industrial doctorate. The research will address the energy penalty of carbon capture systems and explore opportunities for heat recovery, modular CCUS design, multi-objective optimisation, and scalable deployment in industrial clusters.
