The ROBOSORB project is developing a self-driving laboratory for the autonomous discovery of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and other sorbent materials for carbon capture. The PhD will sit at the intersection of experimental chemistry and AI-enabled automation, with a strong focus on accelerating materials discovery.

Students will gain hands-on experience in laboratory automation and robotics, high-throughput experimentation, materials synthesis and characterization, and machine learning-guided experiment planning. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in autonomous research laboratories, data-driven materials discovery, and advanced experimental workflows.
