About this position

Kennesaw State University is hiring 1-2 fully funded PhD students in Computer Science to join Huayue Gu’s research team, starting in Spring 2027 or Fall 2027.

The group focuses on the foundations of future quantum communication and quantum computing infrastructures, with a long-term vision of enabling a global-scale Quantum Internet connecting quantum computers, sensors, and users across terrestrial and satellite networks.

Research areas include quantum networking and communications, satellite-assisted quantum networks, distributed quantum computing, distributed quantum sensing, AI for quantum systems, network optimization and resource allocation, and machine learning.

Eligibility: applicants should have a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. Strong programming and analytical skills are expected. Prior quantum experience is welcome but not required. Research experience and publications are a plus.
