Fully funded PhD opportunity in Intelligent Energy Systems at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

The project sits at the intersection of power systems, electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and optimization. Research themes include renewable energy integration, smart grids, electric vehicles, vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-vehicle technologies, microgrids, distributed energy resources, and power system reliability, stability, and resilience.

The work will focus on developing intelligent, reliable, and optimized energy system techniques that combine AI/ML with power systems and cyber-physical energy infrastructure. Students may contribute to cutting-edge projects supported by federal agencies and industry partners.

Applicants with a background in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Optimization, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Both Master’s degree holders and strong Bachelor’s degree holders seeking direct PhD admission are welcome. Strong programming and research skills are highly valued.
