A fully funded PhD position is available at Leeds Beckett University in the Leeds Sustainability Institute, focused on sustainable buildings, building performance evaluation, energy efficiency, decarbonization, and innovative measurement techniques for the built environment.

The project aims to develop and validate new approaches for assessing real-world building performance, improving building energy efficiency, and supporting the transition toward low-carbon and climate-resilient communities. Research may include building performance monitoring, heat transfer coefficient (HTC) measurement, building energy systems, low-carbon construction, and climate resilience.

Applicants with backgrounds in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Funding includes full tuition fee coverage for eligible candidates, a tax-free annual stipend of £21,805 (UKRI 2026/27 rate), and support for 36 months. The application deadline is 31 August 2026.
