Fully funded PhD opportunity in synthetic organic electrochemistry at The University of Queensland.

The project sits in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences and focuses on developing novel electrochemical reactions and methods for the synthesis of organic compounds, especially organic scaffolds and pharmaceutical intermediates. This is a strong fit for applicants interested in chemistry, organic synthesis, electrochemical synthesis, and research with pharmaceutical applications.

Funding is provided through a Research project scholarship that includes a tax-free living stipend of $37,500 per annum (2026 rate, indexed annually), tuition fees covered, and single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

Applicants are assessed competitively based on academic record, publication record, honours and awards, and employment history. A working knowledge of organic synthesis is beneficial. The project is open to eligible PhD applicants.
