Dr. Tiffany Messer at the University of Kentucky is seeking three PhD, Masters, and Postdoctoral candidates to join her research team investigating the fate and transport of emerging contaminants (such as PFAS, microplastics, pesticides, and antibiotics) in agroecosystems. The research focuses on the use of wetlands and riparian buffers for contaminant treatment, with a program start in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2026. The Messer Lab specializes in identifying, tracing, and treating contaminants of emerging concern and nutrients in human-impacted ecosystems.

The University of Kentucky offers a welcoming environment with numerous resources for students, including access to the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Department and various support services.
These positions are fully funded through grants from the USGS, NSF, and the Gatton Foundation.
