About this position
⭐ Fully funded PhD studentship in green hydrogen, electrolysis, chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, and materials science through the Engineering Hydrogen Net Zero CDT.
The project works with Clean Power Hydrogen plc to pioneer next-generation electrolysis technologies and unlock the full potential of green hydrogen. The research goal is to develop cost-effective, high-efficiency membrane-free alkaline electrolysers by innovating electrode materials and cell designs.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a first-class or upper second-class degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, other relevant engineering/science subjects, or have relevant industrial experience. The opportunity is open to UK and international students.
Students will gain hands-on industrial experience at CPH2’s site and work alongside the R&D team led by Dr Nick Baynes. Specialist training is provided through the CDT. Primary supervisor Sonya Calnan is available for questions via [email protected].
