Funding is for UK Home students only and includes full tuition fees for three years plus an annual stipend of £21,805 in Year 1, £22,895 in Year 2, and £24,040 in Year 3. The studentship also provides access to specialist research facilities, computing infrastructure, doctoral training, and wider researcher development support.

Applicants should normally hold at least a 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent) in computer science, AI, data science, biomedical engineering, electronic engineering, or a closely related subject. A relevant master’s degree or equivalent research/professional experience is advantageous. Experience with Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, image/video/sensor data, quantitative research, and multidisciplinary collaboration would be helpful.

Supervision is by Dr Massoud Khodadadzadeh and Dr Edward Braund at the University of Bedfordshire. The closing date is 16 August 2026, with interviews expected during the week commencing 31 August 2026 and an expected start date of October 2026.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
