The Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE) at the University of Hamburg is recruiting PhD students for its DFG Research Training Group "Managerial and Economic Dimensions of Health Care Quality," starting April 2026. The program offers an interdisciplinary environment combining economics, business administration, and medicine, with training in experimental and econometric methods. Research topics include decision-making in physician-patient interactions, adoption of new technologies in care, digital health contacts, health insurance impacts, informal care, provider incentives, post-acute infection syndromes, and more. Supervisors are leading professors in health economics and related fields. Applicants should hold a research-oriented Master’s degree in economics, business administration, or health economics with above-average results and ideally 300 ECTS points. Candidates from other disciplines with relevant qualifications may also apply. The program provides opportunities for seminars, conferences, and research stays abroad.
