University of Florida is advertising a Lecturer (Instructional Assistant Professor) position in the Department of Plant Pathology at the Gainesville main campus. This is a teaching-focused faculty role in plant pathology, plant health management, and related biology/agricultural sciences topics.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver a teaching program related to plant health and global issues in plant health. Teaching duties include six classes per year, such as a UF Quest course, a Plant Science core course, a general education biology course, and an upper-division undergraduate course in plant health management. The post also involves mentoring, curriculum development, advising, and scholarly activities related to instruction.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a doctorate (PhD or DPM, or foreign equivalent) in Plant Pathology or a closely related field, or expect to complete the degree by the appointment date. Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and interest in extramural funding are required. Preferred experience includes instructor-of-record teaching, student mentoring, and course design/curriculum development.

Funding: this is a 12-month non-tenure-accruing faculty appointment with salary commensurate with experience and education. No scholarship or studentship funding is indicated.
