The Centre for Ice, Cryosphere, Carbon and Climate (iC3) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites researchers to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship focused on modeling the physical and biogeochemical interactions between glacier ice, sediments, and the oceans. Located in Tromsø, the capital of Arctic Norway, iC3 is a leading interdisciplinary research hub specializing in polar science, including oceans, ice, cryosphere, carbon, and climate in both the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

This opportunity is open to candidates of all nationalities who wish to pursue a research project of their own design for 2–3 years at iC3. The research will center on coupled physical-biochemical models of glacier-ocean interactions, with a particular focus on the European Arctic. Applicants are encouraged to develop their own research questions and methodologies within this broad area, allowing for significant academic freedom and creativity.

Over the past three years, iC3 has achieved a 42% success rate for MSCA applicants, significantly higher than the European average.

Applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent by September 2026 and have no more than 8 years of full-time academic research experience. Excellent English language skills are required, and the MSCA grant mandates relocation to Norway. Family allowances are available for grantees relocating with partners and/or children.
