MDD 423 advances into integrated systems and emerging technologies, including embedded systems, sensors, and machine learning for medical devices.
The position is embedded in a translational hub with research labs, teaching labs, startups, and proximity to the hospital, making it a strong fit for candidates interested in hands-on, project-based teaching in a biomedical engineering environment.
Eligibility highlights: a master's degree in engineering or a closely related STEM field is required, along with demonstrated expertise in one or more relevant areas such as CAD, prototyping, electronics, machine learning, or medical device development. Preferred experience includes teaching/training in applied settings, industry experience in medical devices or biomedical engineering, and familiarity with interdisciplinary, project-based instruction.
Funding/appointment: approximately 33% appointment per course (about 12–15 hours/week), with compensation of $10,000–$12,000 per course, commensurate with experience. Each course runs for one academic quarter (10 weeks) and may be offered in Fall, Winter, or Spring.
