About this position

PhD candidate for Cosmic Ray Physics with the KM3NeT neutrino detector at the University of Amsterdam / Nikhef in the Netherlands.

Eligibility: an MSc in physics by the start date, strong interest in astroparticle/cosmic-ray physics, good programming skills, teamwork in a large international collaboration, and strong English communication skills. Experience with data analysis in astroparticle, particle, or cosmic-ray physics is an advantage; machine learning experience is welcome but not required.

Funding: a temporary 4-year PhD contract (initial 18 months, then extension after satisfactory evaluation), with a gross monthly salary of €3,204–€4,051 for 38 hours/week, plus holiday allowance and year-end bonus. The post notes that the Dutch 30% tax ruling may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
