About this position
PhD opportunity in Cancer Neuroscience and Translational Neuro-Oncology at Aarhus University / Aarhus University Hospital.
The project, titled Disrupting neuro-tumor and tumor-tumor crosstalk in glioblastoma, is a fully financed PhD fellowship focused on the biology and pharmacology of glioblastoma. The work combines clinical trial participation with advanced laboratory research, including patient interaction, sample collection and processing, multi-omics analyses, molecular profiling, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies, and functional studies on living tumor tissue.
Research themes include neuroscience, medical science, biology, pharmacy, and translational clinical research. The project uses human material from patients in the clinical SENIPERA trial and studies investigational drugs such as senicapoc and perampanel. The candidate will work with tissue, CSF, and blood samples, contribute to biobanking and structured sample handling, and participate in data registration, GCP-related tasks, and collaboration with national and international partners.
Eligibility highlights: a master’s degree in medicine, biomedicine, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related field; strong interest in translational and clinical research; fluency in English; and the ability to work with human samples and patient-related research. Preferred experience includes clinical trials, Good Clinical Practice, omics technologies, REDCap, bioinformatics, and drug analysis.
