PhD in Compositional Learning for Vision Foundation Models at University of Twente University of Twente in Canada

University of Twente is advertising one fully funded PhD position in the Data Management and Biometrics (DMB) group, within the team of Nicola Strisciuglio and the Computer Vision Lab.

The project topic is Compositionality for Vision Foundation Models, with a focus on compositional learning, data efficiency, object-attribute visual representation, bias detection, machine unlearning, and self-supervised objectives for vision foundation models.

This is a 4-year full-time PhD position. The vacancy states a gross monthly salary from €3,059 in the first year to €3,881 in the fourth year, together with standard Dutch university benefits, including holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, pension, leave hours, and a travel budget for conferences and scientific events.

Eligibility highlights include a master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics with a major in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision. Applicants should have strong machine learning and computer vision knowledge, excellent programming skills, solid mathematics, creativity, analytical ability, communication skills, team spirit, and good English proficiency. Prior publication experience at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or ICLR is appreciated.
