About this position

Doctoral Researcher opening at the University of Luxembourg in Criminal Law, Compliance and Law Enforcement, hosted by the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF). The doctoral researcher will prepare a PhD thesis in the broader area of compliance, law enforcement, criminal law, and law and technology. The candidate may propose a topic within this theme and will also contribute to teaching activities. The research environment includes a group of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working on criminal law, criminal procedure, enforcement, compliance, and new technologies.

Eligibility highlights: a Master’s degree in criminal law, cyberlaw, law & tech, compliance, EU law with a focus on digital governance, or another degree showing strong interest in these disciplines. Applicants must demonstrate at least B2-level proficiency in the language of the thesis.

Funding and contract: full-time fixed-term doctoral contract for 36 months, extendable to 48 months if required. The yearly gross salary is EUR 43,445 for full-time doctoral researchers.
