The European Research University offers a fully accredited, English-taught PhD in Economic Policy & Public Administration, based in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic. This three-year, full-time doctoral programme is delivered through ERUNI's European research network, with affiliated research colleges in London, Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris. The programme is structured around a research platform that emphasizes team-based supervision, milestone-based progress monitoring, and regular work-in-progress seminars.

Research topics must fall within the broad scope of Economic Policy & Public Administration, including public finance, taxation, expenditure programmes, policy evaluation, labour economics, inequality, social policy, monetary and financial policy, regulation, macro-financial stability, competition policy, market power, productivity, governance, public administration, policy implementation, trade, geopolitics, and policy risk. The programme is designed to foster high-quality research outputs and offers opportunities for research mobility across ERUNI's European network.

Funding is highly competitive and comprehensive. Outstanding candidates may receive full financial support up to EUR 250,000 over three years, including a monthly stipend (up to EUR 4,000), a doctoral research grant (up to EUR 80,000 for dissertation-related costs), and support for conferences, summer schools, and workshops (up to EUR 8,000 per year). Additional performance-based rewards are available for high-quality publications.

Applicants should have a strong academic background in economics, public policy, or a closely related discipline (MSc/MA required), demonstrated research capacity (writing sample required), and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The programme expects regular progress reporting, peer feedback, and ongoing research outputs.
