The successful candidate will join the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and New Technology (EINT) research group led by Prof. Christian Fisch.
This PhD is focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, entrepreneurial finance, sustainable entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship and AI. The thesis topic is open within EINT’s research areas, and the project is expected to be quantitative and empirical, using large-scale datasets, statistical programming, and econometric methods. The role emphasizes developing original research questions, building datasets, running reproducible quantitative analyses, and preparing manuscripts for leading international entrepreneurship and management journals.
Eligibility highlights: a completed or nearly completed Master’s degree in management, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field; advanced training in empirical methods, statistics, or econometrics; practical experience with Stata, R, or Python; strong communication skills; independence; curiosity; and a genuine interest in entrepreneurship research. In exceptional cases, applicants with a Master’s in computer science, data science, or a closely related technical field may also be considered if they can connect their background to theoretically grounded entrepreneurship questions.
Language requirements: excellent English at C1 level is required, and applicants must also demonstrate at least B2-level proficiency in the language of their thesis.
