The University of Caen Normandy is recruiting a doctoral student for a 36-month PhD contract within the HisTeMé Research Unit (UR 7455) and the ENSOHM 39-45+ project. The project focuses on forced displacement, migration, refuge, and solidarity in Normandy from the Second World War through the 1960s.

This interdisciplinary doctoral project includes research on wartime migration, refugees, forced labour, post-war reconstruction, collective memory, and the mapping of refuge locations. The successful candidate will also contribute to scientific outreach and public engagement activities, alongside archival research in French and international collections.
