PhD Position: Generative AI for Smart Grids and Energy Systems at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH in Germany (Jülich).
This doctoral opening is part of AI.Grids, a European initiative focused on trustworthy, scalable AI solutions for future electricity networks. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold an excellent Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field. Strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, or C/C++, plus a solid background in machine learning and statistical modelling, are required. English at B2 level or above is expected; German is welcome but not required.
Funding: paid PhD employment under TVöD-Bund Pay Group 13 (75%) with benefits, year-end bonus, capital-forming benefits, 30 days annual leave, and access to training and doctoral development support. The position is initially fixed term for 3.5 years.
