PhD opportunity in GNSS navigation at INTA and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in Madrid, Spain. The project focuses on navigation in challenging and degraded environments, with research directions that can be tailored to the successful candidate’s interests.

Possible research themes include GNSS hardware and receiver design, software development and signal processing, and navigation algorithms, estimation, and theoretical aspects. The position has a strong applied research component and includes opportunities to validate ideas through real-world experiments, including drone-based and LEO platform experiments.

This is a fully funded, full-time PhD position. The candidate will enroll in a PhD at UC3M while working with INTA, Spain’s leading aerospace research organization. The post is especially relevant for students interested in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, GNSS, signal processing, estimation, navigation, orbital mechanics, geodesy, and applied mathematics.

Eligibility highlights include a strong background in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, preferably with a Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Aerospace, Navigation, Signal Processing, or a similar area. Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar are expected, along with strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
