About this position
PhD position at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie / HIPOLE Jena in Jena, Germany.
The project focuses on synthesis and characterization of redox-active polymers, including synthesis of redox-active monomers and polymers, structural and electrochemical characterization, coupling polymers with photocatalytic units, and studying photocatalytic reactions such as hydrogen evolution or alcohol oxidation in collaboration with CataLight.
This is a PhD thesis opportunity for candidates with a master’s degree in chemistry or a comparable field. Strong background in organic chemistry and/or polymer chemistry is required, along with experience in organic synthesis, polymer synthesis (preferred), analytical methods for polymer characterization, electrochemistry, and ideally photocatalysis. Very good written and spoken English is also expected.
