About this position

Radboud University Medical Center is recruiting a PhD candidate in Treatment Optimisation for Tuberculosis within the Department of Pulmonary Diseases and the broader TB research group in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

The project focuses on improving tuberculosis treatment outcomes through a combination of clinical research, translational approaches, and secondary analyses of existing data and samples. The PhD researcher may contribute to a dose-optimisation clinical trial, investigate factors associated with treatment outcomes, and work with clinical, laboratory, radiological, and/or computational methods depending on the research question.

The position is embedded in major international collaborations, including the PORT trial and the UNITE4TB consortium, offering access to multidisciplinary expertise, clinical trial data, and biological samples. This is a strong opportunity for candidates interested in infectious diseases, global health, medical biology, biomedical sciences, and quantitative or translational TB research.

Eligibility highlights: a completed MSc in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Biology, or a related field; strong interest in infectious diseases and clinical research; good analytical and organisational skills; excellent English; and willingness to work across clinical, lab, imaging, and modelling approaches. Experience with data analysis, programming, epidemiological modelling, or laboratory techniques is helpful but not required. A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required.
