About this position
PhD opportunity at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), Barcelona, Spain in the CRG International PhD Programme 2027.
The Novoa lab (Dr Eva Maria Novoa) studies RNA dynamics with a strong focus on RNA modifications and the epitranscriptome. This project uses a combination of wet and dry methods, including nanopore sequencing, to investigate how molecular information is carried in sperm and how environmental exposures may be transmitted to the next generation.
This PhD is aimed at a highly motivated student, ideally with a hybrid wet/dry profile, interested in sperm development, sperm maturation, inheritance across generations, genomics, genetics, molecular biology, and related biomedical research.
The position is funded and open to candidates of any nationality. Applicants should hold, or expect to hold by September 2027, a relevant Bachelor's and Master's degree in biomedical sciences (or an equivalent qualification that permits PhD enrolment in Spain). Strong academic performance, prior research experience, and good English are required.
The project is based in Barcelona, Spain. Interested candidates should apply via the project page and review the eligibility criteria before submitting their application.
