About this position
Dassault Systèmes is offering a paid six-month internship/co-op for PhD students in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, focusing on software validation and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The position is based onsite at the Dassault Systèmes Office in Waltham, Massachusetts, starting in Summer 2026. Interns will join the SIMULIA Validation Team, part of the Fluids R&D organization, and contribute to improving aerodynamic simulation efficiency and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include performing validation and verification tasks for SIMULIA's simulation technologies, setting up simulations, evaluating results, and post-processing using Python scripting. The role also involves assessing the numerical accuracy and stability of new software features, collaborating with multiple teams, and helping to build an auto-reviewing system using machine learning algorithms. Experience with CFD simulations, Python, UNIX/Linux, and shell scripting is required. Experience in validation and verification of CFD products and machine learning is a plus. Fluency in English is essential, and the role is strictly onsite.
Interns will benefit from professional development opportunities, including speaker series, networking events, and employee functions as part of the Dassault Systèmes NAM Intern Program. Compensation ranges from $25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience. The company is committed to equal opportunity and non-discrimination in employment practices. Apply online through the Dassault Systèmes careers portal by the Summer 2026 deadline.
