Wave 2 of the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards is open, and Brock University is seeking an outstanding PhD candidate for nomination, with additional interest in strong Master’s and postdoctoral candidates through an NSERC Discovery Grant.

The research areas are centered on electrical engineering and include power electronic converters (design, control, modeling, high-efficiency power conversion, WBG power converters), smart grid applications (grid integration of renewables, microgrids, power quality, real-time monitoring and control), clean energy and zero-emission technologies (renewable energy integration, energy storage, decarbonization pathways), and EV charging systems (fast-charging infrastructure, grid impacts, smart charging control).

Funding: The PhD award is valued at $40,000 per year for up to 3 years. The post describes the opportunity as highly competitive and notes that only the strongest candidates will be forwarded for nomination.
