Prof. Aminu Ma'aruf Nass is looking for 1–2 PhD students to join RMIT University on research in energy systems, risk assessment, and infrastructure resilience.
Project 1: QuaRE – Quantum Risk Assessment for Next-Generation Energy Systems
This project develops next-generation computational and probabilistic methods for dynamic risk assessment of complex energy systems. Relevant backgrounds include Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
Project 2: Resilience Assessment of Critical Energy Infrastructure Under Compound Disruptions
This project studies how critical energy infrastructure withstands, adapts to, and recovers from multiple interacting disruptions. Relevant backgrounds include Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Successful candidates will be nominated for competitive RMIT-funded PhD scholarships. Applicants must meet RMIT's minimum PhD admission requirements, and strong academic performance plus research experience (honours or master's research, journal publications, conference papers) will be highly valued.
