PhD opportunity at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience (CAIAN), University of Bonn, in cognitive-computational neuroscience and machine learning.

The project, led by Prof. Dominik Bach, focuses on data-driven understanding of human action planning using VR trackers, optical cameras, and motion-capture systems. The successful candidate will apply unsupervised machine learning to movement data and develop computational models of action sequences to test hypotheses about planning and behavior.

This is an interdisciplinary research environment at the interface of neuroscience, computer science, and psychology. CAIAN is part of the University of Bonn’s transdisciplinary research landscape and the Bonn-Cologne node of the Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience.

Eligibility highlights: MSc in Computer Science, Computational Neuroscience, Applied ML, Physics, or a related field; strong Python and machine learning skills; experience with deep neural networks and applied statistics; interest in human behavior. Prior research experience is a plus.
