About this position
PhD opportunity in Grenoble, France, on MEMS microspeakers at the intersection of acoustics, microsystems, physics, electroacoustics, mechanics, and multiphysics modeling.
The project focuses on reinventing MEMS loudspeaker architectures beyond conventional planar limits, using vertical 3D blade structures and ultrasound demodulation. The doctoral researcher will contribute to the full development cycle: concept creation, physical modeling, device design optimization, microfabrication process definition, and experimental validation.
The work environment is highly multidisciplinary and includes collaboration with cleanroom specialists for process development. The successful candidate will also perform acoustic and electrical characterization of the demonstrator.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree or engineering degree in acoustics, microsystems, physics, or a related field. A strong background in electroacoustics, mechanics, or multiphysics simulation is desirable, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Location: Grenoble, France. Start date: Fall 2026.
