About this position

PhD opportunity in THz beamforming using reconfigurable metasurfaces at XLIM Laboratory (CNRS / University of Limoges), France.

The project focuses on terahertz (THz) beamforming, reconfigurable metasurfaces, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), 6G and beyond, and phase-change materials such as VO₂ and GeTe. It also includes multi-spot and 3D focusing, THz-TDS, near-field scanning, and experimental characterization for advanced communication, sensing, radar, positioning, and near-field imaging applications.

Eligible candidates should hold a Master’s degree (M2/Engineering) in Physics or a related field. A background in electromagnetics, high-frequency electronics, and/or photonics is expected, while knowledge of functional materials or microfabrication is an advantage. Good written and spoken English is required.

Location is explicitly stated as Limoges, France. Interested applicants should contact Cyril Decroze, Aurelian Crunteanu, or Georges Humbert by email for further details and application guidance.
